Christmas Eve, 2011

Bye, Bye Eagles:  As I mentioned yesterday, I thought it would be difficult for the Eagles to make the playoffs and their chances lasted less than 24 hours as the Giants outlasted the Jets. Romo's injury definitely impacts the game next week against the Giants for the division title.  As for the Chargers, it's the end of the line for the season and probably for Norv Turner as well.

Broncos exposed: Ouch! If your game plan is to play tough defense and stay in it to give Tebow a chance to win in the fourth quarter, then you may want to rethink things in a hurry.  The Chiefs lost in overtime, but their coach will be trying to make a statement about his job status and the players will be playing to impress the front office.  Not to mention the shear joy of knocking a rival out of the playoffs.  If the Broncos don't make the playoffs, Tebow needs to start studying the Broncos playbook from the perspective of an H-back.  That is beginning to look more likely with each game.

What a difference a year makes: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were everyone's darlings to make it to the playoffs this year: strong young quarterback, tough defense, coach on the rise.  Midnight came a little early for Cinderella this year.  Tampa's defense is terrible and it appears the team may have given up on their coach.  I would expect a change, which would make it three for three for the Sunshine State.

NBA: I'm told there are games tomorrow, but I'm still wondering why I should care......

Merry Christmas!
